Happy Deepa-Raya everyone!
I'm back from my Dancesport competition in Johore and I'm back in school. :) The competition was an amazing experience. Participating in it was really fun and I definitely brought back some fond memories. The evening Grade A Standard and Latin American Ballroom Dancing competiton was a sight to behold. The competitors were beautifully dolled and up and danced impeccably. Melvin and Sharon, our instructors came in first for the Latin section, meaning that they're ranked first, again! Woo hoo! Another win for Singapore! :) Watching the Italian couple dance was breathtaking. They glided across the floor with so much ease and told a wonderful story with their bodies. It was as though time stood still when they danced. Another couple that impressed me greatly was the teenage couple from Thailand, couple 121. They didn't have many supporters but I was quick to cheer my lungs out for them. They were incredible. A couple of powerhouses, they were. :)
Here's a picture of Team Singapore. :)
On Hari Raya, I went over to Marium's place together with the rest of the Veggie Patch. It was just like old times. The food was sumptious, and we went nuts in Mar's room. Everyone except Vic and I had to leave early, so we stayed back and had a heart to heart talk with Mar. I know I'm not speaking just for myself when I say that we really miss the old times, when everyone knew what was going on with everyone, when we saw each other practically every day, and when we sat next to each other and laughed till we cried. Things are so different now. We've all grown up, changed and blossomed, if I may say, but we still hold the Veggie Gang close to our hearts. I know that even when we all start pursuing our dreams and heading in different directions, things will change, but no matter what, we'll still be at each other's with chocolated, tissues and a shoulder to cry on when the other needs us and we'll be noisiest ones at each other's weddings. Yes, I know this entry suddenly took a different turn, and I apologize. But, I just needed to get that off my chest. Veggies, I love you all. Take care, peace, and love.
To those of you who celebrate Deepavali and Hari Raya,
Happy Festival of Lights and Eid Muabarak!

Yesterday was the day of the opera, "Bastien Und Bastienne." There was a feeling of nostalgia as we performed Mozart's very first opera, that he wrote when he was at a tender age of twelve. Thanks to Heath, Juit Lian, Kathy and William for coming! I really appreciate the support. :) The opera went well, with the Lord's grace and I can safely say that our hard work paid off. Yesterday was an experience for me because I felt like I've never felt before. I felt like the character I was playing, Bastienne. In fact, I was so much like Bastienne, that I fell into the song and I was actually about to cry during my first aria! Now I now what Ms Ae Ree means when she tells me to sing with my heart. I feel so thankful for this opera. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and a great experience. I honestly feel blessed by the Lord and his gift of music. It truly feels wonderful to be able to sing, and sing with your heart, unto the Lord.
Oh yes, if anyone spotted me grinning during the opera, it's because of David, although he claims it was my fault. Haha.We both couldn't stop smirking during the opera because of each other. When one started laughing, the other would follow suit. Haha... Ah, we were both to blame. :P Here are some pictures from the opera. :)
My lovely vocal teacher, Ms Ae Ree and I. :)
Interesting make up, yes?
The Storyteller, Rosemarie, and I. :)

I have finally realised that I always have to keep myself in check and that I should never let myself get too caught up in the moment and let myself go. Because, ultimately, whatever I do or say, should not be to please man, but in fact, be pleasing to God. There is no need for me to impress people. There is no need for me to try to "fit in." I've got a very stable and grounded bunch of friends, whom I thank God for, who I can turn to. I do need the giggly, ditzy moments I share with people whom I am not close to. I can avoid being labelled for no reason. I am not wild. I do have my crazy moments but I am not wild. I am not fake. I try to be who I am. Sometimes, I get caught up in the moment and I seem to be a different, more flamboyant and callous person. But I am not that sort of a person. I am who I am, and I will keep trying and praying to become a better person. God's strength is what I need and have, and his guidance will keep me on the right path. He will stop me and guide me back to the right path, should I ever go astray. I thank God for his wisdom and guidance, which I could not live without. I think it's time I become more aware of everything around me. I don't want to go astray anymore.
