Tuesday, May 30, 2006Okay, first, I'd like to thank all of you who came for my concert last Saturday. Your presence and support there meant a lot to me. :) I'm very happy to say that $140, 000 was raised for charity from the concert. Praise God!
I must say that I started off a little nervous, as the first two songs were sacred songs with a harp with hardly any written accompaniment, but I just prayed while I sang and that helped to build my confidence. God was definitely helping me throughout the concert. I got my cadenza right! I managed to stay calm and not "push" during my pieces and not be too "nodsy." Haha... I had fun and felt pretty good after the concert... I knowI'm repeating myself, but I just can't stop saying how happy I am that so many of you came! It really really meant a lot to me, seeing you all there. :) Oh, and thanks for all the lovely flowers! They're all so pretty! :)
The autograph signing session was so fun! My friends stood in line and surprised me! Haha! It was hilarious! There was this sweet girl who was the sister of a "Youth Excellence Award" recipient in 2003. She was such a darling, and wanted to take pictures with me and get my autograph! She was so adorable! She said she wanted to sing and be just like me so she was going to try to get into SMSS through DSA... Haha! I so wanted to hug her andnot let go! She was so sweet!
Oh, please bear with me while I convey my gratitude to some very special people. Ms Ae Ree, thanks for all the hard work, energy and love you put into helping make this concert a success. David, thank you for lending your voice to my concert and also for all the twisted encouragement you gave me. Haha... Yan, thanks for being the best pianist in the world! Haha! I really appreciate all the time and extra "mini" rehearsals we had while waiting for actual rehearsals to start... Giggling fits, included. ;)
Overall, I had fun, despite the tiredness, stress and anxiety I felt throughout the months leading up to the concert...I'm glad and really thankful for this concert. :)
I went for the ACJC concert last night.. It was good! The second half of the show was enchanting. :) I met up with Juit Lian for dinner and we caught up... We went to visit our friends backstage after the performance.. It was awesome seeing everyone again.. :) I'm so proud of them... :) It was lovely to see Mr Ismail again after such a long time! He looks really different now, with dyed hair and a smaller frame.. Haha... But he's still the same jovial and sweet man I know and love... :)
Time, really flies... It just seems more prominent now because I'm always on a tight schedule nowadays... Speaking of which, I better turn in for the night... I need to catch up on my rest...Take care and have a blessed week... :)
