Sunday, January 22, 2006Yesterday, I went to watch Yan and Mr Chan play in "Piano Treasures." And no, Mr Chan is not a pianist, he is a cellist. He played in the quintet. :)
The first piece was by Ravel, which was needless to say, gorgeous. And the second piece was by César Frank. That piece was intoxicating. I was breatheless towards the end of the first movement. That was how intoxicating it was. The concert was really goos and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. It really was an experience. :)
I must say, Yan was amazing! That guy is so talented! I was so impressed! You know what I love about Yan? He is so talented, and accomplished, yet, he is extemely humble. He's also really dedicated to what he does and he works magic on the piano. He doesn't play pieces, he performs them, and enjoys them at the same time. He is fantastic. I really am lucky to have him as an accompanist and friend. He's a really nice guy and a really good friend. He's trustworthy, hilarious, comforting and can put up with my wackiness because he's wacky too. Really, he's great. Thanks for everything Yan, you rawk! ;) And congratulations, once again on an electrifying performance. :)
